Maresa was born with cerebral palsy and has severe difficulties with movement and coordination. She is unable to speak. Several experts claimed that she was unable to understand or appreciate most of what was going on around her. But Maresa learned to communicate using a spelling board and a remarkable system called Facilitated Communication. Now she's aiming for a place at university and campaigns to encourage other disabled youngsters to be accepted into mainstream schools. |
