A
documentary about the former top athlete David Lega from Sweden and
his work to start a Disability Centre in one of the poorest countries
in Europe. David has participated in two paralympic games (Atlanta
1996 and Sydney 2000) and has 14 world records in swimming. He is
one of Sweden's most famous disabled athletes and is now working as
a lecturer. He is also a member of the International Paralympic Committee.
We can, in "David's Stairway" ("David-en trappa ar inget hinder"),
follow his work to start a Disability Centre in Tirana, Albania, from
the beginning to the end. We see all the problems David meets on the
way to the opening ceremony, but also all the fun, all the hope and
the laughs. He also talks a lot of his situation in a wheelchair and
peoples reaction and views on disabled people. David Lega is a person
who proves that anything is possible, even when the odds are against
it.
