In the spring of 2002, the dancing tree, an alliance of visual and performing artists from San Francisco USA, collaborated for one month with members of Lilliput Theatre, a theatre company for adults with disabilities in Derry, North Ireland. Each Lilliput theatre member was asked to photograph the places in their lives that best illustrated the idea of home, which included self, work, leisure and community. From their photographs, Lilliput Theatre members then created their own choreography, movements, interviews, improvisations, animations, paintings, writing and music, which further explored the idea of home. The video entitled, "Welcome to my Home" is the result of their explorations. |
